I was in a shop the other day and saw what looks to be a good swap in progress. It was a 318 V8 out of a GC going into a TJ. The wiring harness was almost a perfect match. There were only two (maybe 3) connections that needed modification. The TJ just needed a 1" BL to get all the components to line up right on.

How did it look in thee? Is there plenty of room to work around?

It didn't take up any more room than the I6. Same radiaor, shroud, everything. I forgot to ask what year the vehicles were. It looked like DC could have made it a nearly no cost option though. It was that simple a switch. I can find out more about it if you want.

Just wondering if it could be the 4.7 V8. I love the 4.7 in my 01 GC Larado. Much power and torc, would probably do great in a Wrangler with the weight diff.

A 318 c.i. engine is bigger than 4.7 liters -- probably around 5.2 to 5.3 liters.
