Getting the Wheeling Fever
Need some help please! I just installed a 2" lift kit which consisted of adding a leaf between the bottom two leafs. No problems yet!

Then I lowered the transmission plate using the spacers provided in the kit. Again, no problem.

Now the problem: Shifting to second gear seems like it's not fully engaging. Or if it engages, it pops out of gear. This does not happen in any other gear, just second. Did not have this problem prior to adding the kit.

Thanks guys!

Might be the rubber boot under the shifter binding up.
Take it off and see if it still pops out of gear.

I had to beat the sheet metal back 1/2" or so on my Yoda after putting the lift in.

Howdy RL You have encountered a fairly common problem with lift kits. Like already said take the boot off and see if the shifter is binding against the body of the vehicle.. If so then simply make the needed clearance by bending or cutting as needed.

What kind of vehicle is it? Usually, installing a 2" spring lift doesn't necessitate lowering the transmission. Did you try running it before lowering the tranny plate? If not, you might want to try that. Usually, the driveline angle isn't bad enough to do that until you add 3" or 4" of lift.

I also agree that it's likely that your shifter is hitting the edge of the hole in the floorboard, or the hole in the boot ring.
