Nice setup. Where did you find the caps for the hose ends? I hadn't seen those before. On the other hand, I hadn't gone looking for them either.

Also interested to see a better pic of the bracket you're using to mount the bottle inside?

He did ask.

Nice CO2 set up. You don't rely on the quick connects to hold pressure and leave the bottle turned on all the time, I hope?

John: no, I won't ever let pressure sit in those hoses for any length of time. Just long enough to air up.

Ray- that mount is one that I had for the CO2 in my Raider. It is for a fire extinguisher and I got it from a firehouse supplier.

In the FJ there are 2 spots to screw in heavy stuff along the wall- so it's secured to the body, not plastic. And 2 big hose clamps keep it tight.

And:

Below is an old photo when it was mounted in my Raider to the Jump Seat I fabricated, remember? going down Memory Lane....

Curious... How big is your bottle and how many tires/times can you air up? IOW, how long can you go refilling the CO2 for $ before you cross the threshold where the economics justify a compressor?

Wish I could get there this weekend. It's not that far really, just not a good weekend for a guy with kids. Keep us posted on the next time.

I have a compressor also, if I need it. But the co2 will fill up all my tires for a few trips. I had bigger tires on the Raider and it was nice to be able to air up in a couple minutes, rather than sit there and wait.

the cost of swapping it out is under $15.00, so that may or may not be worth it to somebody who wheels every weekend....I don't. So the convenience is worth it to me.

The one I have mounted there now is a 5lb cylinder, but have a 10lb also that I can put it if I think I'll need the extra power.
