Just wanted to post how thrilled I am with my new exhaust from Calgary Muffler on 58 aveSE in Calgary. full 2.5" from the turbo back and a fully welded system. My stupid heavy 33"s now feel like my old stockers on the truck. I again can accelerate up hills. A welcomed feeling. Then again, all you guys in your new 2.8's don't have that problem but I'm holding onto this 92 for a while. It's been way to good to me to get rid of it.

Could you post (or PM me if you prefer) approximately what they charged you? I need a new exhaust.

They did my YJ a few years ago and I was very happy.

From the down tube off the turbo (which is a 2 1/2 " pipe, hence why I didn't go 3") straight back with no resonator and a welded Z muffler (apparently somewhat crush resistant). The complete system tucked up neatly away and fully welded. The whole works ran 551.00 taxes in. I was quoted 600 and tax but I guess the system was in relatively good shape, except the muffler, so probably managed to use some old mounts etc. so ran a bit cheeper. They are first come first serve and don't take appointments. Al, the guy I spoke to, did a great job. He and another guy worked on it and cranked it out in only an hour.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Does anyone know some garage in Vancouver to replace the exhaust?
I went today to Budget Mufflers, they didn't want to deal with Pajero: "unknown parts, etc..."

Need a Spot
Hi Guy's
I just wanted to let everyone know I found a really nice full 2.25" S/S exhaust system for my 2.8 LWB from the Turbo, back to a polished tip from a UK Company called (Cybox) they can be found on ebay.co.uk.
It cost (275 pounds sterling)and by the time it arrived it converted to about $800 cnd landed including shipping.
Although it is made from 304 S/S, I had it electro polished which is a process of dipping the parts into an electrofied solution which protects them from any corrosion, I have done this with other S/S exhausts and the results are really fantastic !!
The company I use is called (Chilco Electropolishing) and they're in North Van.
At present I'm in the process of installing it, the fit is pretty bang on with just few minor tweeks here and there.Once she is completed I'll take some photo's and post them.
Any questions? let me know.
Cheers.

I had the Minute Muffler on Macleod do mine 3 weeks ago. They did 2.5" Turbo back. They were unable to find the proper coupler to mount to the turbo so they left the factory one along with 4" of pipe and welded to it(I call in my velocity tube). I'm running no muffler, just a diesel specific resinator. The res is nice and small, and I'm told it's very tough as it is designed for truck use. Everything fits nicely in the frame. I didn't bother with a tip, I figured I'd just flatten it anyway. When I looked under the truck I was very impressed with the quality of the welds and workmanship. The only downside is that I didn't get mandral bent tubing.

Everyone seems to have different oppinions on this, but allot of people have told me that on a turbo diesel mandral bends make no real difference in power.

The system sounds great. It isn't much louder than facotry at idle, and even at full throttle it's not too bad. I drove the truck fairly hard this weekend, including setting it on the frame, and racing a fullsized Ford accros a farmers field (It was their property, I wasn't tresspassing). No rattles clanks or bangs. The power inprovement was very obviouse and my truck starts way better now.

The system was $418 tax in. For what I paid I'm more than happy. Exhaust on trucks that get driven hard always seems to be one of the first things to get ripped off (right after the mud flaps and fender flares) so I'm happy paying less knowing I may need to do it agian in a couple of years.

Maurie

Incase you're wondering, the Ford won the race, but in my Pajeros defence, he was on a oilfield road and I wasn't.

mandrel bends are only to get the maximum performance out of your exhaust, for your 105HP 4cyl Diesel, its not going to make any difference whatsoever. you've already upgraded the size by a decent amount and with no cat/muffler it helps even more. All I am running is a high-flow cat and it has a nice sound to it but at WOT it barks pretty good. I've never felt my truck with factory exhaust so I can't compare....All I know is I'm happy with it.
