Does anyone have any info on adding Differential Breathers? Or is there a reason kia left them off?

Both differentials do have breathers, They have a cap on them that lets them breath through the bottom of the caps.

Will this cap allow water to get into the dif when mudding? Can i add a hose to it and route it out of the way of any water If you are afraid of water getting in water, simply remove the cap run a length of tubing (rubber gas line woks good) up to a point above the water line and install the cap on the end of the tube. Don't forget to put dielectric grease on all your connectors and sensors as well, nothing worse than stalling out in a mud hole cause something electrical got wet!

Anybody got pics of this tubing being done? Would love to have a visual of this.

A few years ago one of the off road magizines did an artical on water proofing. It seems like they ran the vents under the hood and attached them to either the firewall or into the air cleaner box. If you have an open air cleaner you won't want to do that because it needs to be before the the filter not after. If you attach it to the fire wall make a half loop and have the open ends faceing down, it will be harder for anything to get in and clog it that way. No pics but I hop that helps a little.

ive had my kia in water to the point the exhaust pipe was under water and have checked diffs and no water and i havent changed anything, but as always after wheeling you should always check things over.
