I finally got myself a decent little 4-channel amp, and I need a place to put it! My LWB Pajero has dual front bouncey seats, so I can't go under either seat. It's a small unit as amps go, but it's still about 12" square and 3" deep. Suggestions? If I can't find anywhere further front, I'll put under the plastics in the left rear wheelwell, but that would be some serious PITA wiring. I'm going to run it in 4x40W RMS mode, since I have Infinity 2-way 6x9s in the back and Pioneer 3-way 5-1/4s in the front doors. Which should be sufficient sound for me. The head unit I have is almost enough for me, but not quite, so I figured a small amp would do the job well. Thanks guys, Duncan

why don?t you install the amp under the rear seats?, just put some spacers on the backetry of the seats in order to raise them a little and get enough space for your amp avoiding contact with the floor.
Other idea is to install it on the rear door.. as I just did, and put some cover on it for protection.

I don't have rear AC, so I was going to locate my amps there.

That would a be a great spot... if I didn't have rear climate control. When I took the rear plastics apart to get at the speakers, I was surprised at how much space the AC and heater take up. They're huge!

What Jorge said. Not many other places to put it really w/out it being in a bad spot. You could also build a false floor in back and mount it underneath. Include extra fans to keep the air circulating and possibly even venting the hot air out & cool air back in so it avoids overheating.

In my old '95 Pathfinder I ended up using self-tapping screws to attach the amps to the rear seat backs. Worked well enough, but for the Pajero you'll have to route extra cable for the sliding seat if you use it.
Other ideas: -attach to rear door -hide under/inside 3rd row seat -use a 5 channel on a sub box to run everything. Make some quick disconnect system to remove the box and amp and revert to deck power only. -make an overhead tray in the rear to hold audio equipment out of sight.
There are only so many easy options.

Maybe attached to the back of the center console?

Ceiling between the front seats? Sunroof. Maybe attached to the back of the center console? Rear heat and AC controls.
