This is the little switch that is mounted on the passenger side of the auto transmission (V4AW3) on my 95SR. Looks like this: http://www.majhost.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=2056874I need one badly. I hope this is what my Montero needs to run, I need to drive it to my new job in a few weeks.

you sure its not the key switch you need ????
it dosent have to be surrounded by water to be an island

Yes, it's either this or the wiring between it and the TCM.
