Can anyone elighten me as to what the vents underneath the font seats on a '97 SR are for and where they lead to? My son's garter snake wriggled free and went right in.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Heater/AC. From under the seats, along the trans tunnel, to the air box behind the radio/dash. You could try to "blow" it out using the fan, set the selector to the floor setting. If it gets into the fan, well,...

Put a small feeder mouse at the end to draw the snake out?

That's kind of what I thought, but I just wanted to be sure. I just took a short drive and turned on the AC thinking that might drive him out, but nothing. We have two bowls of feeder fish on the floor in the back seat to entice him, but I can't sit in there waiting for him to peek out.

He's only about a 1/4 inch in diameter, so he could have even come out when we weren't watching and gone anywhere else inside the car. I suppose it's possible he might not even be in there anymore.

I'm just hoping he doesn't come slithering out of one of the dash vents while me or my wife is driving.

This happened on the way from the pet store after just purchasing the thing. And it was a replacement for a pet lizard that died. My poor kid

Alright I'm gonna have to go ahead and say it. Get A Dog! (a real one tho, not the tiny ones the size of cats)

It would bother me more if it came out the floor vent and wrapped around my ankle. I don't like things slithering up my leg.
These little snakes are happy with earthworms and bugs rather than fish and mice.
But I do have to question why you don't get a normal pet like a ferret or an iguana.

We have a dog and a Beta, so we're covered on the normal pets. My 9 yr old really wanted a lizard and after many unsuccessful attempts at catching them in my parents back yard, my aunt bought him one for Christmas.

Here's the dog
