Getting the Wheeling Fever
I'm sure at some point this subject has been covered, but I am unable to locate anything on it. Which line do you apply vaccume to, to check the secondary carb? Also, could this be causeing choking at higher RPM's with air filter housing on? It does not choke at high RPM's when the air filter housing in off.....I'm about ready to burn this car alive! With all the time and money I have in it, it should be gold plated. lol

With the truck off use a stick to depress the gas pedal. The secondary will only open when the primary is open.

The UFO shaped object on the left is the depression chamber apply vacuum to it. The secondary should open and stay open with no leak down.

It's a 22 year old carb. I suggest a reman from www.FCproducts.com

Ok I tested it and it holds a vaccume fine. Is it possible that the ECU has gone out even tho I only have 110000 on it? I tested the wires coming from the carb, the two upper most sensers were showing 17.03 volts and the one that is down by the AP was well within limits. I read that the two that are reading high are suppost yo be about 5 volts, is this correct?

You will have to read the test procedure in the FSM. It's been a while. I would look at downstream issues like the O2 sensor, or the engine temp sensor etc etc.

What role does the device that comes out of the thermostat area with 4 vaccume lines play? Is this something could cause me an issue?

There are a few thermoswitches and thermovalves that direct vacuum signal to the vacuum advance on the distributor, the bank of junk under the box on the driver's side fender, and to the carb.

Well believe me many of us appreciate your effort searching for it before asking. BTW, if you have any questions about the search engine please feel free to send me a PM to ask. Be more than h appy to help with that.

As for the carb, I'm sure, one of these guys will be able to provide some assistance so good luck with it & welcome to the Mitsu Tech forum on the Wire. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I replaced that whole box with another that I picked up at pick and pull when I first started having the issue and nothing has changed, so I am assuming that it is fine. Do you know of any diagrams that show what poundage that each line should have, so I can try to trace the issue.
