These engines are common enough, maybe not rebuilt and ready to go from someone else's garage to yours. Check out the rebuilders, like Tarco or Rising Sun, or go ahead with your 4.3L. I'm going with a 302 myself in Mitsu #7...:)

Hey there. Kind of close, in Conway SC on the Charlotte Craigslist a guy was selling an '88 D50 pickup for $300, complete. He said it had a bent valve but did run. Good luck!
