i was wondering if there were any straite engine swaps for a 4cyl gen 1 without changing the trany.

Everything with a wideblock should bolt up...<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> Personally, unless you have a spare auto tranny, I wouldn't bolt anything up that makes alot more power than the 2.6L.[Linked Image]

If it was me I think Id take a 4g64 out of a D50 or Mighty Max. Wich is a wideblock make it a 4g64T with DOHC and then the only thing that seperates you from power is how much money you wanna dump into it. Theres even been a few guys that milled the oil squirters in on the bottom end. Granted quite a few people dont like those motors/heads because of there valve train/timing belt problems

ye, didnt know it was sandhils till i got there and we got to talkin. i dont have any plans on swaping the engine, but got wonderin what could be used in the future.
