Getting the Wheeling Fever
Seems I read something here at one time, which I cant find now. I want to get rid of the 'tick' of the rocker arms. Was it best to adjust hot or cold? What gap is suggested?

Adjust hot. Factory spec is 0.008"/0.012" as I recall. Running them 0.007"/0.011" can cut down on the noise somewhat.

Stock cam is .008" intake, .012" exhaust (hot).

I do mine cold, .007" and .011" (It gets hot in there)

All specs are for hot. Book says .008/.012 but they come (came) out of the factory with .007/.011 supposedly. Ted(EB)endorses 7/11 I believe. I think the engine actually runs better w/ 7/11. Replacing the adjuster screws with new ones helped the noise also. Three dollars and change each at 1sttoyotaparts.com

True; 8/12, heavy drag. x 2 on the adjustment screws; over time they get flat spots on 'em.
