Does anyone know if the stock 21p.s.i radiator cap can be replaced with a cap with about 14-18 p.s.i. the plastic o-ring type radiator seems to blow the o ring out every 45,000 Im on my 3rd one from the dealer 335.00 .does not have a blown head gasket nor does it over heat ,compression even through all cylinders.I think the problem is the high pressures the radiator is under,so I would like to drop the cap pressure, does anyone know if it will cause any problems.

Try it! It should work. That little bit of pressure should only correspond to 5 or 6* I betcha it would work anywhere except maybe the Sahara.. Big JIm <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />

The later ones used an 18 psi cap. If you don't tow or drive in a hot climate, you might even try a 13 psi cap
