It's not a recall; it's an extended warranty, so there would be a tech service bulletin out, instead. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/tsbs/Likely not. You can also take your VIN to the dealer and have them look it up for you to see what TSB's, etc apply to your vehicle. To read about the frame issue, there are 2 stickys in the Taco section for your perusal.

I would say no, T100 was made in Japan and imported. Tacoma was made here, frames made by DANA and werent treated right.

I had also asked about the 4Runners for those years; same thing; frames made in Japan.

I think entire 4runners and t's were made in japan (all 4runners still are)... much more solid frames....

Too bad they ignored all the rotted frames from the earlier trucks. Noticed that those were almost always the 4x4 frames that rotted out, not the 2wd models.

Yeah funny thing, mine is rusting out at the front, driver side body mount, right by the power steering box. The back of my frame (where it usually rots) is pretty solid. For some reason the driver side floor is rusting out alot faster than the passenger side floor (in my 89). My 99 has no rust problems, i only wish the 89' was like that.

The body and frames rusted out pitifully, specially body mounts. Then again Ford never admitting the rust issues on the broncos or F series nor the paint issues they had in 88-92ish. Chevy will never ever admit that there alternators and starters last half as much as other makers and dodge/chrysler wont ever admit thier transmissions suck. So how is toyota any different?

Not sure of your point with that. It's not a revalation that car companies don't stand behind their products. Be it Toyota, Honda, Ford or Volvo.
