As others have said, bad TO bearing mostly make noise, but but do not cause engagement problems.

I have seen *ONE* extreme case where the bearing seized & got the diaphragm spring hot enough to bend the tips to the point where an otherwise perfect clutch didn't work. If you live long enough you get to see all sorts of strange things, I guess.

You can probably wait for failure if you feel lucky. Keep in mind that the failure will *always* occur at the most inconvenient time in your life. Only you can make that choice.

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll take it to the shop in the next while. Gonna pull the master and slave cylinders again and check/bleed everything first, and go from there.

91 SR5 Xtra Cab, 298000km, 4" lift, 56" rear springs, 33-12.5R15 BFG Mud-Terran T/A KM2.....and an '85 axle still waiting to go in.
