Getting the Wheeling Fever
Okay so I have my t100 lifted and I put a brand new carrier bearing on it when I did the lift because the old one was completely done. The guy i bought the truck from gave it to me so I dont know where he got it from. 1 year later that carrier bearing was done. The truck started to shake extremly bad. I bought a new one from NAPA and that only lasted one month. It would squeal really loud and it started to shake again. So I went back and they replaced the part. Once again the carrier bearing is squealing really loud and starting to shake. Does anyone know what I should do. Im starting to wonder if it is NAPA or if my driveline is out of wack or what is going on.

How extreme is the angle? Measure it let us know... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Drive shaft could be out of balanced, the angle might be to extreme for the shaft, the u joints could be bad. You need to have all this checked.

the angle from tranny to carrier bearing is stock. the angle really isnt that bad, when we did the lift it tilted the pinion back to account for the lift. my dad is a tech and were gonna take it into his work this weekend and measure out all the angle's and make some shims to tilt the carrier bearing slightly so that the drive line is running straight through and not sagging hard core.

Body Damage is Cool
Among some other stuff, I'm having mine replaced while I'm here in Sitka for the summer. I had one done with a driveshaft balance a couple years ago, and it is HOWLING already, where the original went ten years without more attention than grease. First thing we decided to try was to use an OEM bearing instead of an aftermarket one. The shop owner feels strongly about not using anything other than OEM, and I tend to agree despite the price of it compared to NAPA's.

NAPA has seriously tanked in quality. They took a head first dive into the world of cheap junk and are now at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to quality.

Tis sad, but true.

Buy the next replacement center bearing from Toyota, and you will likely be quite happy.

I just had this same problem on my lifted T.
3 months after installing aftermarket bearing, it started squealing.
Replaced with OEM bearing 3 weeks ago. So far so good.
Luckily the place refunded all my $ for the aftermarket bearing so I could put that $ towards the OEM part.
Did you make sure to paint-marker each driveline location per part?

Im using an aftermarket bearing, dont recall the make but no issues yet and I had a bad vibe with bad motor mounts-no issues.
