started tearing it apart and have a ? or 2.can i just remove the valve cover? i dont want to screw my timing all up in the process. is there a trick to it or is it as simple as it seams to be. and i did search the arcives but didnt find anything as far as details explaining what they did.

You remove the rocker cover and the rocker arm assembly. Use a valve spring compressor to pull the springs and you can get at the seals. I recommend going to Napa and getting the spark plug adapter to run compressed air into the cylinder to keep the valve in place while you change the seals. I just did the procedure last week on my V6 and used to have a 2.6L. The procedure is similar with the difference being how much $hit you have to remove to get to the valve cover. HTH

Just a tip, or two. The cylinder will leak compressed air as you change seals. With the summer and the humidity the compressor air will have a lot of water in it. If you have a water trap keep an eye on it as it will fill up quickly. I'd advise a complete oil change before starting the engine to remove any water in the pan oil. Use a small screw driver tip magnet to remove and re-install keepers.

i am, got new oil n filter waiting, and after about 300 miles im changing again for insurance. and ty for the tips.
