Getting the Wheeling Fever
A part of my steering or suspension is broken ( see picture ). Looks like some kind of stabilizer. The bushings look to be shot. What is it and how do I fix it? The part is hanging down on both sides.

It's your anti-sway bar link. If you have a lift kit you will need to get extended links or the stock parts will keep on breaking.

no lift kit, everything is standard. Can I just buy the bushings or do I have to replace the whole link? Is installation as simple as it looks? Just pop the old ones off and put the new ones on? Quadratec difficulty ranking is "experts only"... why?

Body Damage is Cool
First off, if one side is broken, and the broken pieces are that far away from each other, the other side is likely broken, too.

Yes, you purchase new anti-sway bar links and just replace them. I don't agree with the Quadratec rating. The grunt effort to replace them may be up there, but the technical knowledge required is minimal. Look at any technical manual for your vehicle (OEM or aftermarket), and the explanation of the job should be relatively simple.

With this topic is here. I wanted to replace my factory sway bar with something like a Terraflex kit. (bar and arms) I have the disconnects from my RC lift. I was wondering if one is supposed to preload the bar. I saw some articles in one of the known mags. about this. I don't think it would be necessary? Any answers.
The drivers side of the bar is bent, making it hard to disengage.

The only reason I could see to preload it would be to offset a side to side lean condition, ie. add length to bring a side that is sagging a bit back into line.
