Time to let go of a trusted friend. Get it for parts or repair and drive! You guys get first crack before I list it on Craigs. I couldn't fix it before family vacation so I went and bought an FJ!

Only option it doesnÆt have is an automatic transmission. Sunroof/power everything, Rear ABS, Off-Road and towing pkg etc you know the drill

THE BAD NEWS: I believe the head gasket is blown. It does run and is drivable. There is steam and the odor of genuine Toyota antifreeze comeing from the tailpipe. I had a valve seat receding several months back. I re-shimmed the valve and cured it. This time when it started missing it was sending antifreeze vapor thru the exhaust. Anyone that knows the 3.0 3VZE knows this was a trouble spot and a recall for the head gasket problem. I had the recall gasket replacement done back in 2000 when it had 36,000 miles. There was not a problem at that time, I just wanted it done before it became a problem and it was free. There is some spotty rust areas around wheel opening, tailgate and rear doors. Clear coat is fading/flaking on hood.

THE GOOD:
Solid, everything works.
Interior is in good shape, wear on drivers seat, crack in dashboard
The wheels and tires alone cost $1200 2 years ago
32x11.50 BFG All Terrain KOÆs on 15x8 Dick Cepek DC-1Æs lots of tread life left.
Downey Off-Road Ceramic headers.
Magnoflow stainless cat and custom exhaust.
Downey HD rear springs 1.5" lift
IFS truss, welded in
Bushwacker Extenda-Fender flares
Grant GT steering wheel (have stock too if you want cruise ctl back)
Mobil 1 synthetic oil for itÆs entire life
Redline MT-90 synthetic transmission oil
Custom Grille
Hella 500 off-road lights
PIAA aux back-up lights
Pioneer 50W single CD player, Pioneer speakers front and rear. Starmate Sirius satellite unit all directly hard wired to head unit (slick and tidy install). Sorry but IÆm keeping the Infinity Sub for my kids car.
K&N air filter
TRD AFM tweak
Class 3 hitch

In the past 2-2.5 years all of the following has been done:
New Calipers and Hawk performance brake pads
Power Slot front rotors
CV's cleaned/regreased and new toyota boots.
Wheel bearings (since I had them apart)
New fuel line bulkhead in top of gas tank.
A/C R-12 recharge and suction line replaced
New radiator with Black Magic Electric fan
Power steering pump
KYB front shocks, Edelbrock rears. (I have a new set Bilstein fronts I might throw in)
Hella halogen headlight bulbs
Toyota Timing belt/Water pump/tensioner
Hoses/belts/seals
Denso spark plugs and Toyota wires
Tailgate window regulator and motor improved and new channels and gaskets
New windshield

Spare parts: Upper and Lower intakes, throttle body, OEM alloys, new in box Brembo rotors and Bilstein fronts NIB

Bump for nice looking 4Runner!
This might be a good candidate for a 3.4 swap!

Good luck on the sale!
