I want to cut holes in the hood of my Raider and put in vents.

<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/baby.gif" alt="" />I don't want to go plowing through the junk yard.

Would 4 1/2"x15" stainless steel <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif" alt="" />Jeep <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif" alt="" /> vents work?

They might, however you may want to do a search for that (+hood +vent* maybe?). I recall a discussion thread a while back noting that you need to be careful where you install the vent because it could affect things negatively.

Funny, I'm looking for a street rod shop to set up the vents I want. I need the louvers cut in, I still have the idea in my head from Crunch last year

I remember the thread but darn if I can find it. I really like the vents on the Saleen 25th anniversary Mustang, but haven't found anything like them (unless I wanted to buy an entire Mustang hood). I did the local junk yard run a couple of years ago and couldn't find a LeBaron. I've got a body man that will do the cutting and installation, just need the right kind of vents to prevent rain problems. I avoid underwater excursions.

Username- PHIL

He has done the hood vent thing, and been involved in many conversations about it.

Funny thing, I was just thinking about this today. I now work as an aluminum fabricator, so I think I'm gonna make me one for over my turbo/battery.

They really do help keep the engine cooler and they're not an issue in winter either.

Perfect. Thanks Crunch!

Yeap, I went back to work helping a friend open a small business. Finally took a vacation. I've been driving the Raider all week.
