Where the hell is the fuel cut-off on these 86 4D55T's? Also, there are two wires going into the top of the fuel Filter assembly that are a bit confusing because at the plug the wires cross... Is this normal and what the heck is it? It seems I am not getting any, or much fuel at the injectors. I pull one line completely off and nothing, there is nothing... With all four cracked I get some fuel but really not much at all. Not to sure on how may PSI there should be at the injector but I am sure I should see a bit more fuel violently showing itself. Am I wrong? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

OK... I found the Magnetic Shut-off located in the worst spot possible. What I want to know is, what size is the valve in order to make a tool to remove it? Otherwise it is pulling allot if stuff out of the way to get at it with normal tools... Anyone????

The fuel cut selenoid is on the back of the injection pump. It is the round selenoid in the head of the injection pump. THe head is the square black block on the back of the pump. It takes a few minutes to remove it. I just used a large adjustable wrench.

Those wires on the top of the fuel filter are for the fuel heater element.

To me it sounds like you have a timing issue. Also, when was the last time your injection pump rebuilt? These pumps are prone to sediment buildup and carrosion in the bottom end of the pump which will effect timing.

Thank-you spencevans.... You don't think it is the magnetic valve? I want to back it off and see if it fires but I can not get a wrench in there. The Filter housing is all of five inches away from the cut-off valve. If I knew the size of the wrench I can bend one to fit in there to back it off. Once I get that done and nothing then it is on to the timing. I mean, I have removed stuff there is no stopping now. LOL
All I can tell you about the truck is that it ran until the Turbo was rebuilt and reinstalled, after that it did not run. I would assume that the pump was never rebuilt and you are probably right... It is going to be an interesting winter without firewood..
