ok, so i got the starter in and yes it kinda is a psin in the ...a couple of the bolts are really hard to get to but i managed to get it in....hooked it back up and then hooked up the battery...cranked over just fine but had to crank about 6 times to get to start and it ran like crap, backfiring and such then died...started again ran a lil rough @ idle, put on the brakes and it died, once the car was off if i applied the brakes the guages went all wacky and cel would come on, let off the brake and back to normal...start engine and same thing, turn on any electrical and it dies, it was dark by this point so called it a night...getting ready to see what went wrong, any ideas, all i intentionally unhooked was battery and i hooked that back up correctly....also noticed a sensor that wasnt hooked up before i started, but the car was running great then, just the starting issue....it looks like a lil round sensor with a bolt thru the middle behind the oil filter, it has a pigtail that isnt plugged in and i dont see anyplace for it to plug in...i was told that the guy b4 me put in a newer engine, maybe 95 wasnt equipped with this sensor????

Body Damage is Cool
Sensor sounds like the knock sensor. Did you unhook the ground from the engine? Make sure that it is connected to the engine and body.
Check the wire that goes into the main fuse box by the battery, maybe something came loose...
Hope you find it.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Yep sounds like he would have not put the ground on one of the starter bolts to the tranny...

checked all my wires and they seemed secure...undid them, changed out the fuel filter, which gas ran brown out of that so glad i did, and hooked everything back up...seems like it might have fixed the problem, maybe my ground was just not as secure as i thought, not sure, but i know the fuel filter shouldnt cause the elec probs, maybe the sputtering though...still couldnt find where to plug in that pigtail, does a 95 have a knock sensor????
