Sooo i'll be putting together my new motor next week, and want to know what type of lube/etc i should be using to assemble this stuff?
Specifically headgaskets, heat bolts, Oil pan, cams, oil pump, water pump, etc?
A little guide would be much appreciated

Lithium Assy grease; the white stuff
antiseize on head bolts (ref the 22R rebuild tips in the archive)
Toyota FIPG or Permatex black RTV
Red hi temp RTV

head gaskets do NOT get sealant; only a little bit where the paste line is up in the forward corners.

Just open up the viewing to 'all' in the Toyota Tech archive, and you'll see Ted's stuff.

If he's at his little place down south, his connectivity sux.

>>>*Yep, that's it. Thanks, Margie. Only thing different is I use 30W Valvoline on the bearings and pistons if I plan on swinging her in and starting up right away.

Otherwise, lithium grease, and I have been known to use chassis grease, that works fine.

(I was out falling trees yesterday and today, something about my brother says he can't see the Sheep from his porch.)

*Yesterday I spent 4 hours knocking down Elderberry trees so some light can get in to the smaller Firs and Alder.

I knocked down 35 of them, got 28 of them today....only 150,000 to go!...*LOL**.

Sure is a LOT of Deer up there.....*EB

Do yourself a favor and go buy some Toyota black from your dealership, I know it's kinda pricey but it is totally worth it. I am kinda spoiled and get all the left overs from the dealership I work at. That is what we use on oil pans, water pumps, valve cover (the corners and 1/2 moons) cam housings and I'm sure many more.

On the exhaust manifolds perhaps.

Main thing is to take the time to do your thread chasing, and make sure everything is C L E A N.

Put a cheapie on there for that 500 miles, then drop a Yota filter in thar. My #2 choice is the NAPA gold.

My Yotas only get to see Castrol or Valvoline. For only 500 miles, ya just need some good ol' dino juice if you're switching to synth from there on.

I bang out the miles on a couple of my rigs; the running gear is all synthetic tho. Thought I was gonna grenade pumpkins on a rig I picked up last winter at -55F; she just wasn't gonna turn. Fixed that.
