I got an email from Corey Tando, whom I'm sure you all remember. His account has been deleted. It was active for a long time, but now its gone.

Is there any way you can restore his account, John? He is requesting that it be restored. I think he's looking for some of his old posts.

If there is some behind the scenes issue with Corey, just let me know. I know he diddnt leave on good terms with Yotatech and all that, but I diddnt think he was banned or anything.

Thanks

I do not know of an issue.

I need his user name or email.

Will look into it then.

Username was "Corey" (its no longer showing up on the userlist, he use to be #1 in total number of posts)

Email I have for him is c.tando@comcast.net

Corey shows there are two possibilities:

coreymcafee2002@yahoo.com Username/Display - coreym

or..

cb_hirtle@hotmail.com

Username - CoreyHirtle2000
Displayname - Y2KTaco

If he is not one of those, I am not sure of how to resurrect a gone account.

In theory, his posts should still be in the database.

His name and/or email address are not in the banned list.

Other than that, I need a little help in finding his old account.

He is welcome to register as a new account. If he has posted, I am not sure how his old posts would be deleted without an active effort.

His username was "Corey"

He had like 12,000 posts

He hasnt posted in a few years since he started yotatech.com

He was unhappy with 4x4wire and had some words with previous mods here, so he left.

He said he searched for his old posts but cant find them.

I was able to find some of his posts, they were under the username "annonymous" as many are that have deleted accounts.

Adam, his likely got purged with the firewall(?) update that was done about a year or so ago, where we all had to reconfirm our accounts, IIRC. Or something like that anyway.

I find it interesting how some people leave here all honked off, then come back. Says a lot about this web community.

One other possibility was at least a few years ago, I'm pretty sure Joe purged a bunch of logins where people hadn't logged in for a few years.

When Corey left 4x4Wire and started Yotatech back in about 2002 or 2003, the thing that he did that pissed me off was that he sent lots of PM's within 4x4Wire as well as e-mails to Toyota people within 4x4Wire to try to push people to move over to his new site. I thought that was fairly unethical, but that's just my opinion. I've held a grudge against him since then. AFAIK, he was never banned.

I had saved this ancient link from 7.5 years ago, so here's just an example of how ugly some threads look from 2002 because there's so many logins that have been deleted over the years. http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB13&Number=95611
That was before the Corey-induced exodus to Yotatech.

Hmmm, sounds like someone who doesn't understand engine/transmission dynamics... i.e. they need to be warmed up to operate properly even if it's a $10,000,000 vehicle LOL...

At least technology hasn't gotten us past this requirement yet.
