Downey Off Road Mfg. ceased operation on July 31, 2009.
There are ongoing negotiations with six different well known companies who are interested in continuing major portions of the Downey product line. You will no doubt find Downey products at one or more of those companies in the near future. We thank your for being a part of our 39 year history.

Downey was a big Toyota aftermarket part mfg. Been in business since the 70's. They are now out of business as of July 31.

I see their domain name is up for sale. Are you typing downyoffroad.com or downeyoff-road.com? I did a yahoo search for them and it showed that downeyoff-road.com was their site. This one only shows a screen sayin the site's not valid. downeyoffroad.com on the other hand is for sale.

I remember them having such a horrible reputation among the Toyota crowd. They did produced neat catalogs and had some "OK" stuff, but I was always scared away from them due the reputation they earned on the web. I also recall they were very late to the website game, long after other start ups came along and pretty much took most of their business. Frankly, I'm surprised they lasted this long. With their fancy catalog, I can see why they did well in the "catalog" age, but you gotta keep up with the times, if you want to do well. Of course, I have no idea, if this is why they went out of business and just to protect myself...this is all nothing but my opinion and I could very easily wrong.
