I used to have a little device for remote control planes that would force the plane to orbit if it lost it's signal. It wasn't a perfect solution, but it would buy you some time.

Man, for that kind of cash, you'd think it could at least deploy a shute and shut off all engines if it loses Tx signal...I had an auto shutoff on my R/C trucks for when they got out of range or you had a Tx issue.
