Need a Spot
Hi, everyone. I'm located in Lawton, OK and I have an 87 Raider. Here is some history:

I bought the Raider for $50 bucks and had to rebuild the engine because #2 piston spun a bearing, new crank, bearings, rings, oil pump, timing gear set and a good used distributor along with a new coil, plugs and wires.

refurbished the head

Rebuilt and thouroughly cleaned the carb.

replaced all vacuum hoses.

Had the radiator cleaned and tested.

Had to replace the exhaust manifold with one from an 86 D50, it's a little different bjut it bolts to the head just right. After a trip to the muffler shop and a new bung hole and a new O2 sensor the exhaust was back together.

So after all of the above and alot of tweaking it is almost
done. I have to fix a leaky steering gear box and a few other non-mechanical items. I also would like to see if anyone can provide pics and or data on what ports on the carb are supposed to be hooked up to other ports and which ones are supposed to be capped off. I have the Haynes manual and the Dodge Raider service manuals which show the vacuum piping diagram, which came in handy for replacing the vacuum hoses, but the carberators ports are not shown or mentioned.

Thanks in advance,
Nathan

Looking at the fsm diagram and going way back in memory to the last time I had a carby 2.6, none are capped.

What does FSM mean?

Your response should come in handy if I can figure out what's going on and how to fix my carb. I have two ports that are capped off. I'm working from scratch though as the PO tore down the engine until the point they discovered the bad bearings and then let it sit like that for years, with everything unplugged and laying around to get lost and misplaced.

FSM = Factory Service Manual.

If you dig around the search you will find the vacuum diagram on Don's web site.

Depending on options you will have capped lines. Some are for California emmissions and some are High altitude compensation parts.

No, the rain is frickin killing here. Haven't been able to do anything here. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> Going to mud bogs next weekend, would like to have the fromt and rear bumpers done and the snorkel completed.

That's cool I understand.

I'd love to have some rain here, send some back west. It's been so long since we've had moisture that my lawn has almost turned to dust and blown away!

Dude, if only I could. It sucks not being able to do anything because of the rain.
