My brothers - 86 22RE 4x4 Auto..
Well got around to replacing torq converter... Just got it back togther - BUT it will not move??? any ideas?
- All linkage are hooked up and looks to be moving and operational.
-Throttle cable hooked up
-Plug & wires all connected
- Tcase in any gear Tranny in any gear will not move

When in park and rocked by hand - seems to BE in park will not roll fwd or back..
Any other gear truck can be rocked as if in neutral...
When running truck just revs as if neutral...

When put togther - TQ Convert was placed on tranny, then bolted to flywheel thru that PIA opening...

Any thoughts - did I miss something - I hope I dont have to pull this all apart again...

TIA -

Did you make sure the TC was fully clicked in? Sometimes they gotta be rotated and fit in all the way-if not the situation you have can occur.

Poured some directly into TC then aligned the TC on the splines of the tranny...Slide upto motor.. then mounted the TC to the flywheel via that opening.. Then put bout 4qts fluid in thru the dipstick - then fired up...

Fully 'clicked in'?? onto the output splines of tranny, it was all the way on tranny didnt push to click??? did seem that when bolting TC to flywheel it seemed like it was being pulled away from tranny (you follow)(slightly)

Need a Spot
Hey, this is the owner of the 86 with the tranny probs (trcd's brother) I was lookin around and saw a couple small wires that seem to originate out of the trasmission right about where the TC is. - Not too sure where they go...

I understand the older trucks have will have loose wires with no homes, but hey - worth a shot.
