Jeez Ted you have your priorities mixed up. Le' can handle the phone and packing stuff while you go get dinner. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

>>>*The few times I made it out to the jetty I was having a heck of a time this year. I keep hitting big ones, they are tough to handle in the rocks. Every once in awhile I manage to drag one out.

I watch the tourists, they throw gobs way out in the river, I guess they are after Seals since that is all that is out there.

I am usually fishing in holes back inside the jetty, but now it is time for my bobber and spinner setup for Salmon. Most folks fish on the bottom, I fish on the surface. We even troll spinners behind floats, everybody looks at us like we are crazy.

We catch fish, they catch rocks. They see us trolling in 2 feet of water and just shake their heads, we use our little 8' punt for doing that.

Fish are lazy, that is a secret...*LOL**...

By mid October the Salmon will be right in front of my house, there is a rock shelf that runs out into the river and every single fish coming up the river ends up in that exact same spot sooner or later. I have another spot that is a tiny channel, get in it and we catch them, 4 feet either way and never a bite. The fish seem to come through almost nose to tail there.

Chinook are running over 50# this year, that is wild! One boat took three of them, neat story in the paper. One 47#, another 56# and one 59 1/2#.

I wants one!!!....But first I have to work this week, while the kids are off getting seasick.....*I think that part is funny!...*EB

*Beats the he** outa me!....*LOL**...

seasick sucks...my first time out, we followed a typhoon for a few days. Flat bottoms and big swells don't make fun for those without sea legs...Haha

Ted, I hope you get to go fishing, man. You deserve it!

OT: Do you guys still have that farm you sent me info on a couple years back? I still think about that place!

>>>*Yes, we now use it for a motel room since we are up here about 6-7 nights each month.

We harvest the fruit trees, too, medium crop this year, Plums, apples, Pears, berries. We haul that back the Newport and can some, give the rest away to people who need it.

Then we sharecrop the hayfields, 400 bales this year! Just about covered the taxes, not quite.

*Save up your pennies and come buy it, it is for sale.. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />....*EB

I want to go Salmon fishing in Alaska.
But after all, for a Caribbean guy like me Alaska might be too cold even when in the 70* <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
But I want to go, <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/baby.gif" alt="" /> I want to go <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/baby.gif" alt="" />

Just don't fall in and get wet. Even the rivers stay around 40F up here in the summertime.

I'll tell you like I tell all you wishful types- come while you're still ambulatory, or you'll be on the cattle cars with all the bluehairs and old farts.
