I'm going to be heading out to the junkyards over the next couple of weeks to find a replacement transmission. I've got a '93 SR auto (V4AW2). My question is, what years did Mitsubishi put this trans on?

Are you going to rebuild it? I saw the motor you rebuilt totally awsome. that tranny is one for the 3.0 types isn't it,there are a lot of them here in town so I'll check on it and see what they have.

No, I want one that works. Yeah, it's 3-liter. If I found one that was out of the vehicle that would make me a happy camper. Also looking for a torque converter.

So back to my original question, what years had the V4AW2?

91-93 (and possibly some 90's)

Keep in mind if the gen 1 and 2 use a different tailhousings on the same trans to mate to the standard vs activetrac T-cases.

Yeah, not really looking into pulling a trans without a tailhousing so that won't be an issue. I guess that narrows it down to 92-93 for a replacement for my 93.

I've found a yard with a base model '93. Did Mitsu do anything different with the trans or torque converter between the trim lines that year?
