I'm wondering what people have been using for their front axle shafts / CV's. What brand name is considered good quality. As well, I am replacing my clutch. I've been quoted $1300 CAN for a Beck Arnley clutch, or $1400 for a Centerline clutch.
I will be having the clutch installed but may attempt the axle shafts on my own. Is this a difficult job?

Sounds like a lot of money. I was time pressed and paid $1300 US for clutch, flywheel and stealer labor on my 95. That was five years ago though.
I have a Centerforce DF on my SWB and like it very much. They say though that the CF II is better for wheeling as it can be slipped better. IIRC, I paid around $350 for it.
My understanding is that Beck/Arnley makes good stuff. Haven't used anything from them yet.
When you do it, make sure to put a new pilot bearing in the flywheel. Also inspect FW for resurfacing possibility.
I would say that if you have the appetite to try the front CVs, you can handle the clutch. The biggest thing is getting it aligned properly. I have an actual input shaft from a scrapped tranny. Can't get any better than that for alignment. You can borrow it if you want.
