We had a youngster on our deck yesterday. It was looking at the suet feeder. That didn't last long when our 4 dogs and our neighbors 2 dogs caught sight of it.

The acorn crop is off this year. I've heard that some mom's are forcing the cubs off on their own early.

The combination of hunger and inexperience will probably result in a lot more bear - person encounters this year.
