Previous Thread Next Thread Print Thread Rate Thread 2.8 Rear axle and diff ratios #966372 10/04/09 11:04 PM Joined: May 2007 Posts: 553 Vancouver, BC, Canada jfarsang OP Rock Warrior Taken from outlimits : Diff ratios : Gen 2 2.8D = 4.875 2.8TDI = 4.90 3.5 DOHC V6 = 4.636 t/case = 1.90:1 for 2.8TDI & 3.5 DOHC V6 Axle data : Gen 2 3.5V6 & 2.8TDI :- front axle = 28 spline, 29mm diameter, diff = 8" diameter (high pinion) rear axle = 31 spline, 33.5mm diameter, diff = 9.5" diameter Can you guys who own 2.8's confirm that the rear diff is 9.5" and 31 spline ? Also what's your gear ratio ? 4.875 or 4.90 ? ... good.. bad..
