Need a Spot
I am having trouble with my A340H transmission. For a couple of weeks it shuddered from a standstill, and then would even out and be fine until I have to start moving again (1st gear is the problem). It has now started to slip, and the shudder is gone. I tried to change the fluid and filter, but it has the same result.

Okay now to the question: Does it need to be rebuilt? I have been doing some reading, and it seems the solenoids or valve body could cause this. Any thoughts? Anyone try changing these parts? I don't want to spend the money on parts if there isn't a reasonable chance of it working.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Body Damage is Cool
I had probs with that trans in my 87 Supra I had for a while. Flush and fill didn't fix it. Filter didn't help. Spent the $$$ and replaced all solinoids, no help. Seemed OK warmed up. Sold the car, (long story, I'm married) problem solved.

Thanks guys.

I would hate to just start throwing money and parts at it.

I think I am going to take it to a trans shop and see what they say. At least they will look it over for free, and take it home if it's something I can fix.
