Getting the Wheeling Fever
What auto overdrive trans would work in a 1978 Dodge 150 4x4 with a 318? Not interested in the add on type such as gear venders.

There are some Dodge OD autos that will go in. You'll be making a new cross member, or supplying a later piece. The steering column can be retained or swapped out if you want the shifter scale to read correctly, drivshafts, and other stuff. Swap the trans and t-case, or use the NP203 and 205 doubler. Get the large bearing/large bolt pattern D44 front axle.

Look for an late 80's W150 donor truck, or Ramcharger, and get everything you need.
