If it's got a tag on the side that says KM145, it will work, as long as it's in a 4wd truck.

no the trucks wont work.they have a cable clutch setup and the Monty has a hyd setup.so the bell housing is different and you cant change the bell housing.

There's a reason for that. Seems like they should have made two for every vehicle produced... Or made them so they wouldn't need to be replaced/rebuilt as often. I know I went through a couple on my '87 manual Raider...
No more of those for me, at least until I rebuild one myself with all of Kevin C's/FastEddy's and the other smart guys around the 4x4 Wire's tricks.

I was planning to rebuild it and I will, it's torn down I will order the parts I think I can get a bearing & seal kit for about 150. This car started as a cheap project and turned into more money than I wanted to spend. oh well i hope its worth it in the end

Look up KevinC's remarks on rebuilding the 5spd and the late model parts to use. They did a fair job of beefing up the internals for the Starion/Conquest late model (88-89) 5spds to handle the added torque of the turbo. Should help quite a bit.

Can you tell me how to find KevinC's stuff on the rebuild? I can't get the search to give me anything. Thanks.
