Hi, I've got a '94 Toyota Pickup DLX 4x4 that has developed a shimmy in the brakes after having to slam on them in traffic. I want to pull the front rotors and either have them turned or replaced, and was reading in the service manual about measuring the disc run-out before pulling them, and after installing. I've never heard of this before, can anyone explain what "run-out" refers to, and how to measure it?
Thanks!

FYI the job of changing rotors on these trucks is a PAIN. The hub itself is pressed into the rotor.

Just hammer a pickle fork in between the rotor and the hub.

FYI the job of changing rotors on these trucks is a PAIN. The hub itself is pressed into the rotor. I have never had a problem getting rotor off of hubs, IFS or SA. They are not pressed on, rusted maybe but not pressed. I just took two IFS rotors off yesterday that were very rusted. The bolts spun right out and a couple of hits with a 3 pound dead blow hammer and they fell off.

Well by pressed I mean they are basically friction fit. I tried to do mine once and spent a good 2 hours and finally got out the torch-wouldnt come loose easy.
A friends we said F it and cut the rotors off, wouldnt come off. Another friend I had access to a press and that worked. Remember you live in CA, no real rust there.
