yeah i remember that. i stayed out of oregon. vancouver didnt require chains....or plow side streets.

a friend of mine had blizzak WS60s on his s2000. had minimal problems getting around once the snow got packed down so he could actually get out of his garage. on the in-between day where they lifted the chain requirment he got pulled over for no chains. on this same day i went into portland and played on some side streets noone else could make it up.

I found reasons to go out and play , or was that run errands?

For those that dont live here, we dont have snow plows (OK there might be one or two). So our snow removal system requires waiting till it all melts.

I had a blast "Testing" my Raider. This was the first snow I have been in since I put in the Torsen rear diff and the LSD in the front.

I did find that if I stopped in the middle of a really steep hill that I going forward was not an option. The upside was I was able to get four perfect rooster tails trying.

It was so easy to get around in a 4WD, I question the "Chains" rule. I dont know if it was panic and fear or just a way to keep people like me off the streets to prevent congestion on bad streets and reduce fender benders.

Either way , I had fun.

Kevin

I think those rules are in place to put fear into people that should not be on the road anyway:) I hopped into my chev crewcab and shuttled kids to play dates and such during that time. even broke trail on a long unplowed driveway where people had been stuck for a week. after I went through it, people were able to get to the main road. Man that was fun. nothing like fishtailing a 24ft long truck through 24in snow at 25mph:) Of course, the only reason why i wasnt at work was because of the icy roads:) shhh.

You can thank our Gay mayor for that. I guess when the mayor has a prius and has to chain up then so should every one else. After all its a prius the car that will change the world

Man, listening to all the talk of snow, I sure am glad to have moved down here and gotten away from all that. Makes the blue hairs and nut jobs seem worth it.

The problem with that was the chains he used had these red rubber balls attached to them.

Well I think I am going to order up a set of the KM2. Today when I was up skiing the guy parked next to me had a set on this Pho runner. I asked him how he liked them. He said he loved them. Said they do great in the snow and ice. I guess before he had BFG AT's and now with the KM2 said he can feel no difference between the AT's and the KM2 on compact snow and ice. So when I get a set I am going to get them sipped so it should help. Guess I will just have to get some chains just in case I ever do get stopped and have to chain up.
