Need a Spot
Hi, new here. Just picked up a 1993 Trooper LS and noticed recently that I was seeing a trans fluid spot on driveway. I have seen drops on the skid plate at the trans mount bracket but can't find the source of the leak. I have tightened the bolts on the pans since those gaskets were just done.

Any suggestions on what it could be from and is this an easy fix or something I need to go to a trans shop to have handle.

Thanks <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Body Damage is Cool
Pull the skid plate so that you can see where the leak is coming from.

Is it the 4L30? if so , look for a round metal plug on the side , about 2" in diameter.there is a seal in there , and if that seal is gone it will leak , I had mine go on me and it took my mechanic 2 minutes to change the seal as they knew what it was when I was stumped.

Thanks. Took it too a Transmission shop and after replacing the two top plug seals and the shift shaft seal it looks like the problem is finally fixed.
