tips on where best to look for a decent tranny? 2nd and 5th won't engage on a monty i towed from NY state. good body, rebuilt motor, worth keeping. just having a hard time finding a tranny sournce.
91 two-tone LWB 5-speed, sunroof, third row seat, 31" wrangler authority's on black cragar soft 8's.

These are kinda rare with m/t. I'd rebuild that one. Not all that difficult to do.
EDIT: Did a quick search on car-part.com and there are several in PA. You can search and see if any are close by inputting your zip code. I just searched the NE area. At the prices I was seeing, I'd still rebuild yours...

Should be a short drive for you. Know where the Mountaineer resort is? On the OH river near where the three states meet. Wellsville is right across the river on the OH side. We'll have to meet up some time.

If you guys ever go to wellsville, let me know. last time I went, I crushed my 02 sensor, but it was a blast
Back to thread. That tranny is hard to find. I'd rebuild it or have it rebuilt. I don't know of any junkyards around pgh that have any monteros, though I haven't checked since september.
