Yeah, I almost passed a whole lettuce leaf through my nose during lunch when I saw that. I thought I might have been the only one...

Someone needs to start making these things up and selling them... I would probably be in for one.

I would buy one too. It would be nice to have the extra fuel capacity. I wish i knew how to weld.

I would be happy to make a couple of tanks. I have one issue right now to get around in that my main Tig welder is down from a lightning strike a year ago. "I was told not to have the circuit board rebuilt" I can not weld heavy aluminum yet and I have welding jobs here to do with it.
I expect I would make them with the V6 type sending unit and pump assembly so the tank could be used with either a carby or injection.

If you were to make some of these up, what do you think the cost would be? Not holding you to anything, but this might be a really good upgrade to save for.

I am going to check on materials costs to get up to date on the heavier alloy plates. I also need to check on the pressforming of the bottom. I can not bend that heavy aluminum here. When I was down in Connecticut I had a shop a mile away and we traded allot of work and tooling, Vermont does not work that way. It is all up here. I also need to suck in my gut and pull out the credit card for a one thousand dollar circuit board for my welder. F'n price gouge, I need to do that anyways especially if I am going to get the 6 speed tranny in my SR.

When you come up with a number, post it up. I might be interested providing I don't have to buy all of that circuit board...

Whats the old board on your welder look like? Post up some pics, and maybe it can be repaired. I "know" some folks who run an electronics repair shop. Wost case scenario, it's toast, and you havent lost anything.
