The way they continue to do this is they stop everyone. The State of California is desperate for cash and are just doing whatever they can to bring in money. Personally I think the practices of stopping people to check anything lacks the probable cause and until enough of us finally stand up against this it will keep going. 93 Trooper LS 255,286 @12/02/09

As a friend of mine rather succintly put it, "You generally deserve whatever it is you're willing to put up with."
No truer words spoken, be it of politics or drug activity in your neighborhood.

I appreciated the fact that my Sheriff friend acknowledged that detaining folks without probable cause is illegal.
Now if his constituents would get the memo.

I was all set to correct you, but constituents works, too. Correct what? I know sometimes I invent words but I thought I used words from the English language.

I wonder what the shiny young men who serve in "law enforcement" think about being turned into tax collectors...

One of two things probably-- 'this is utter BS', or 'job security'.

Remember them taking guns away from citizens during Katrina? I wonder if any officers actually brought up the fact that it was an illegal seizure. I think most just wanted to be little soldiers no matter what country they were in and that is a shame. Indicative of what we usually see out of law enforcement.

I think that's actually part of the FEMA playbook; martial law begins at day 10. Food and water start getting rationed about day 4.
Would have to do some digging to cite, but believe that's how the football is put into play.
