This is how i did my 16 gallon fuel cell from summit, part number sum-290108 ![[Linked Image]](http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii245/jaboo5322/sum-290108_w_m.jpg) Brand Summit Racing Manufacturer's Part Number SUM-290108 Part Type Fuel Cells Product Line Summit Racing« Pro Street Fuel Cells Summit Racing Part Number SUM-290108 Capacity 16 gallons Fuel Cell Color Black Fuel Cell Material Plastic Foam Yes Sending Unit Included Yes Sender Ohm Range 0 ohms empty, 90 ohms full Length (in) 25.000 in. Width (in) 17.000 in. Height (in) 9.000 in. Outlet Fitting Quantity Two Outlet Fitting Size -8 AN Vent Fitting Size -6 AN Sump Yes Sump Depth (in) 2 in. Quantity Sold individually. I think, I did not do such a good job, as it was to get me through the season, which made it most of anyway. So it was kinda rigged, and kinda not mounted well. As i don't know how well we will find out a way to mount that big a cell in the back of a 4 door kia anyway. The nice thing to know is, if you order a 16 gallon fuel cell with foam, if you take the foam out, you are much closer to actually haveing a 16 gallon fuel cell. Foam didn't seem to help me at all. So the heck with the foam. Besides that, if you find yourself at the mercy of the checkbook, i moved the fill cap away from the level sender, and cut a hole, a precise hole, in the center of the fuel cell. and put the original sender, pump, tank low level, tank pressure, all original equipment in the middle of the cell. The fuel pump screen ends up exactly in the center of the sump. Sealed it with some good seal all sealant. Extended the wires, and everything worked well. Accept the guage reads backwards, and you have to mount the tank on something at least 2 inches high, because of the 2 inch sump. I used the purchased straps, on top of 2x4s, which i screwed to the floor. Now, in the future, hopefully next spring, i will be trying to find a safe way to drop the cell a little bit down in the back under the usuall cargo area. But not too much under the vehicle, as you don't really have that much room. And would like to have an external fuel pump, filter, wiring. All nicely mounted. I found some people interested in how i used this wonderfull piece of equipment. I kinda feel, i feel terrible that i cut a perfect piece of sealed tank up to rigg up a used pump and sender. Then again. It was great on the trails last year. Yeahhoo.

Just the fuel cell, because the original tank was leaking at the seam. Which brings me to another point. I only tied in the pressure and return lines. On my 2001, there is the vapor eliminator, which is totaly unhooked now. I don't know if that will effect emmissions at all, but mine still only gets the o2 sensor code. If you don't hook up the tank pressure switch, you will get a code for that.

You could score one for free and double the range of your Sporty.

Thanks, but not in ohio. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> Which doesn't make much sense, because ohio uses salt all winter long. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" />
