I got 1 for my V-6.Supposed to be the same part ,but I paid $55 for mine. Maybe they took me for a ride!Hope yours is more reasonably priced.

Some of the above is wrong. On the 2.6, the thermoswitch disables o/d and a/c when the engine overheats. The cure is the same, just gound the wire. That switch has nothing to do with fuel enrichment. There's a seperate thermosensor for the ecu that's a two wire sensor.

On their computer they listed a "Temp sender for gauge", a Temp switch for light" and a "Temp switch". I purchased the plain "Temp switch", fortunately it was the right one. They listed it under the engine category even though it controls a tansmission function. One thing I have learned after working on heavy equipment for over 20 years, is that parts manuals don't always use common sense in grouping parts. Sometimes you have to think out of the box. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif" alt="" /> We installed it and the OD is working fine. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
