Getting the Wheeling Fever
Has anyone changed our the stock carburetor with a small 2 barrel holley or Weber carb? Did it require much of an engine modification?

There are a few with Webers here. If you have any stringent smog testing, they are considered to be not likely to pass.

I'd be rather inclined to go back to the first shop and tell them no thanks to their face.

How much did the rebuilding job cost?

No. Bought it in Satsuma last Saturday. This on is our first. It is at the brake shop today. It will be nice to have a way to stop the thing...

Sounds high priced? Special order rear drums go for $50 each. I payed the guy $550 for front brakes before I could drive it home. Most of it was parts. Went full on rotors, calipers & pads. Very reasonable on labor. He had to farm some press work. 22 year old rotors wouldn't comply. New shocks, all 4, as well.

You would have to look up their number. They are off of Bowden on the Southside. They pre-run it and everything great folks. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I know a Mech that lives in Lantana. You two will have to make arrangements to get together. I could swap P/no.s if interested.

I found a guy on San Juan and Blanding (Brakes and More) that did the entire job for $703. He even replaced the emergency brake pads and cable even though it wasnt on the original estimate.
After a little bit of Carb cleaner, Rusty is running pretty good. I think I'll take him out for a long freeway drive.
