My CEL just went on. How do I pull the codes on a 3.0? This is on a 90 ram50. Thanks.

If it came on when your mileage was a multiple of 50K, it can be reset by a switch on the back of the instrument cluster.

If it's you're Maint Required light then yes, the switch in back of your instrument cluster will fix this problem.

If on the other hand it is actually a Check Engine light then there should be a code being stored in your ECU.

Here's how to read the code...

First you'll need to access the Diagnostic connector behind your glove box.

Next you'll need a non-digital multimeter to read the codes... Here are the procedures to do that.

Here are what the different codes mean...

Does the above procedure work for a 1995 Gen II as well?

I'm not sure but to doublecheck, download the FSM (Factory Service Manual) from mitsubishi links dot com and it should show the procedure and along with the correct connector & relevant pins to check along with a chart of the codes.

Oh and if it's not clear, you'll need an analog multimeter (not a digital one) to do the check.

I've pulled them down at home before w/out issues. I don't believe he's messed with the files so that's likely a network issue. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
