Body Damage is Cool
Splines are different in the REAR diff (96=26 & 98=28), the 98+ transfer case has a narrower chain (believe this was from an earlier post)
Interior wise, I believe 98 has passenger air bag.
There are probably more changes like no egr valve on the 98's but think that these are some of the basics. Oh, headlights and tail lights are different too.

European wise at least the 96 are OBD1 and the 98 are OBD2 and that is a major diference engine-wise..

Fokian's input may describe Australia too.....Not sure..

Is it the same as Europe???

I had a 2001 sporty 4x2 (now converted 4x4) with a 98 rear 4x4 drive shaft<shorter no c- bearing>, 02 Auto Tranny 4x4, 00 t-case, 97 front drive shaft, 98 - 2002 front Diff ETC.....

So still unsure....Maybe the Moderator (Gary) from Ausie can better answer this issue <he is from there> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

The U.S. Models are obviously different....and I have been in your shoes many times with my project as well! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
