Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have a club run coming up we are all going down to the beach for new years and I have not gotten my new hubs yet. Of course the stocks don't work, question is can i take a stock set of none vacuum hubs and permanently lock them? My plan is to drive to beach take off vacuum hubs and swap out to locked ones and when done vise versa.

Yes you can, but it requires about 15 mins of work to do, and requires disassembly of the hub.

IIRC what I did was to remove circlip on the inside of the hub (axle side) pull out the contents (remembering the sequence), and to reassemble the hub with the wavy spring on the other side of the sliding splined collar.

A bit on the fiddly side, and care with the circlip when she lets go <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" />
