well there has been alittle play in my steering wheel so sent it in to a shop to see what magical number they can provider me , heres the break down ,
bearing and seals total job 690.32
labor = 228.00
wheel bearing outer 2x 37.26
wheel bearing inner 2x 56.76
seals rf 2x68.57
seals lf 2x 68.57

idler arm total job 226.56
labor 66.50
idler arm x1 160.06

sway bar link kits total job 337.54
labor = 190.00
sway bar link x 2 73.77

so how hard would it be to change bearing , idler arm and sway links ? Im by no means a duty mechanic but do you think any special tool are required?

Every thing you listed would take me about 4 hours and what ever the price of parts. The hardest would be the sway bar links, the front bearings is just part of normal mainance and if you do them every year you will never have to replace them. My truck bearings are going on about 320,000 miles.

LOOK IN ABOVE QUOTE FOR PRICE COMPAIRISON from ROCKAUTO.COM
or KIACARPARTS.NET

Now find a good mechanic that will do the job if you supply the parts and ask him how much for labor if you are not comfortable doing it yourself.

The other thing is with the money you can save by what I showed you, buy a lift kit from me and install the sway bar links when you lift it!!!

Hope this helps.

Wow.....That's cause ur prolly really good Denny!

I took my vehicle for an Idle arm replacement like 4 years back and it took them 2 days and I was there spectating at times and I believed It was like major surgery.......(They also just did some oils changes and the like).

I further belive that the figure of $1354 is a bit to high. Shop around first!

In my experience with the Sporties that I had --Is that the steering has always had a lot of play (like a go cart)?

It has to be or it would be dangerous if to touchy <don't wanna flip it over> (Add mathematical furmulation,physics and scientific data etc HERE) .

Is the gear box really leaking or just spotting?

BTW: My idler arm Assy needed replacing cause when lifted on a high lift---If you just touched a wheel---It would move way to easy!

No matter what the money is though, Saftey should always come first for you,ur fam, and all of us out there on the road.

----Still got the Spings if you wan't them....Will hold em' until the summer -----
