hydra asked in my fencerow thread if he needed to get more than laiability..it kind got jumbled in there. i did want to say to him all i carried was liabilty since kia was paid off, but! i carry 100,000property and 300,000 medical in damages that i may do to any one else.that is to me a minimum. a person can rack up 300,000 quick. let alone several people, god forbid.
the state minimum is something like 7500/15000. or around there. that is nothing. and thats the point of 69942's i wanted to reiterate... ...

"if you have minimal liability cvrg with low limits and are liable for a huge loss or fatality, a good adverse lawyer can suck you dry!! Basically soak you for any equity you may have in your home, bank, cars, toys etc. So if you don't have Bill gates like funds, make sure your agent has you well covered. One simple mistake can change your life forever!!"

well spoken indeed, makes me want to go 300,000/500,000

any damage done to my car is all me,if wreck is my fault though.

peace out

or, just carry the minimum liability and don't get into a car wreck... 100% of car wrecks are preventable.

Body Damage is Cool
Or, get an umbrella policy. They are not that expensive. But I'm not an insurance guru, maybe 69422 can chime in with some advise.

How much damage did it do? It looks like a junk yard hood and new fog lights and your in business. Mine has hit a Nissan, Saturn, sign post, deer and a coyote. All I have had to replace was one corner light with the sign post. The Nissan was the only one with the factory front bumper, The cop couldn't believe I was the one that hit her, her car was pretty messed up and the Kia had no noticable damage.
Glad your ok!

Dennis

I'm an Appraiser not an agent so I'm not current on individual state laws and options. What I do know is that good people with good intentions make mistakes every day. I see the aftermath because that's how I make a living! Hindsight can be a real Bi!ch when it smacks you upside your head

I looked at a vehicle just this week that was a one car accident. 5 adults, all sober and according to the only speaking passenger/witness they were driving along talking when the driver lightly veered to the shoulder then made an abrupt correction which caused the veh to swerve off road and strike a tree! Drivers dead, RF passenger paralized waist down with severe head trauma, LR passenger dead, middle rear passenger cut up bad with severe head trauma and RR passenger walked away!

I had to edit this, as I was looking at my file notes I mixed facts of the accident with speculation from the drivers family. It's correct per detectives notes now.

Be smart, sit down with your agent and have him or her educate you on options that you can afford. Or, live life on the edge like Dave
